Addressing the skills challenge will require interventions across the skills landscape and it was interesting to note that companies identified the importance of multiple skills development pathways. As may be expected, university routes have been identified as most critical but there was also significant demand for alternative routes such as apprenticeships, internships and CPD training. Interestingly, appetite for these alternative routes was more evident among larger companies, reflecting not just their demand for such routes but also their own experience in utilising them. Smaller companies were less inclined towards non-university routes, indicating that work needs to be done to communicate the value of these pathways for all companies, large or small.

INTRODUCTION Molecules could become tiny magnets if the spin centers are judiciously chosen and placed in a proper way. 1 Such molecules are widely studied and known as single-molecule magnets (SMMs) and widely perceived as a new generation of nanosized information carriers for highly miniaturized spintronics and quantum computing processors. 2-5 According to the number of the spin centers SMMs can be basically divided into two groups, namely the single-ion magnets 6-12 and the multi-nuclear spin clusters. 13-18 The former is latterly emerged as Ishikawa discovered that the single lanthanide ion could generate strong uniaxial magnetic anisotropy which significantly damps the relaxation of the magnetic moment. 6 The latter actually ignited the starter of the SMM story signaled by the discovery of the magnet-type behavior of a mixed-valent manganese cluster {Mn 12 } in 1993. 13 Due to the multi spin center nature of the latter such class of molecular magnets has developed many interesting branches. Coordination cluster with spin-wave excitations is one of the kinds. 19

There are some interesting angles to the gen AI chip boom that affect the chip industry as a whole. With sales predicted to reach more than US$50 billion in 2024, 10 this market is a tailwind for the sector and is expected to account for about 8.5% of sales. A portion of that will come from logic processors made on advanced nodes, some of it from advanced high bandwidth memory (HBM3), some from advanced 2.5D packaging, plus some from advanced connectivity chips. In each category, these gen AI-driven chips are among the priciest of their kind. In 2022, more than a trillion chips were sold at an average selling price of US$0.57 per chip. 11 Meanwhile, some gen AI chips were selling for US$40,000 each in 2023, or 70,000x higher, and therefore US$50 billion worth of chips might only be a volume of 1.25 million chips, or less than 0.1% of total chip volumes for the year. 12
