Other global mandates present timely opportunities to strengthen national dementia responses including the comprehensive mental health action plan 2013–2030, the global action plan for the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases 2013–2030, the intersectoral global action plan on epilepsy and other neurological disorders 2022–2031, the Global strategy and action plan on ageing and health 2016–2020, the Rehabilitation 2030 Initiative, and the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030). G7 and G20 declarations in 2019 and 2023 and a high-level ministerial conference organized by the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2023 further urged Member States to accelerate actions to achieve global dementia targets.
