Small-town school leader earns more than 670K votes in California superintendent race
Wendy Castañeda Leal, a superintendent from a small school district in Kern County, received more than 670,000 votes in the primary for California superintendent of public instruction with the help of a small team of volunteers and without any campaign contributions.
