The state then pays 85% of the premium amount for Unit 9 rank and file employees and 80% of the additional premium costs for their family members. This is the best health care reimbursement rate in state service . As shown in the tables on pages 2 and 3 of this Informer , in 2025, the state's monthly contribution according to the 85%/80% formula will increase by 8.4% to $860 for employee only, $1,666 for two-party, and $2,148 for family coverage . If the premium for the plan you select is higher than that, you would then pay the difference each month. In 2024, the state's monthly contribution for Unit 9 employees was $794 for employee only, $1,538 for two- party, and $1,982 for family coverage .
