来源:俄罗斯国际事务理事会报告On March 24, 2026, a scientific seminar was held “Formation of a categorical apparatus for analyzing the influence of internal political polarization on the foreign policy of countries and associations of the collective West.”
As part of the event, a conceptualization of domestic political polarization as a multidimensional phenomenon was proposed and a typology was considered that makes it possible to distinguish between its ideological, affective and performative forms. Separately, an analysis of the influence of domestic political polarization on US foreign policy was presented using the example of inter-party foreign policy consensus. Particular attention was paid to the analytical possibilities of using the proposed categorical apparatus to study how polarization processes are reflected in the foreign policy of states and associations of the collective West.
At the scientific seminar, RIAC program manager Konstantin Sukhoverkhov made a presentation on “The Impact of Domestic Political Polarization on US Foreign Policy as an Example of Analysis of Inter-Party Foreign Policy Consensus.”
