This Strategic Plan has been developed during a period of intense pressure and uncertainty for the social work and social care workforce and for people who use services. A cost of living crisis and an economic recession, difficulties in the recruitment and retention of social workers and social care workers, unprecedented pressure on the Health Service leading to pressure on the social care system, are all factors influencing safe and effective delivery of social work and social care services.
