Farm equipment maker Balwaan Krishi has launched a new logistics and distribution hub in Chennai and Vishakhapatnam to accelerate its South India expansion targetting small and marginal farmers across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.

The Chennai facility, spanning 14,000 sq ft with an investment of ₹50 lakhs, will anchor supply-chain operations for Tamil Nadu, covering all 38 districts through a dealer network of 34 partners, the company said in a statement. Simultaneously, it will serve as the primary distribution gateway into Andhra Pradesh, supporting 59 dealer partners from Visakhapatnam in the north to key agri-belts in the south. Each operational cluster is projected to generate 5–8 direct and indirect jobs across warehousing, logistics and field support, the company said.

In Tamil Nadu, the facility unlocks significant demand for power weeders, brush cutters, sprayers, water pumps and harvesting equipment, with growth to be driven through FPOs, cooperatives and agri-input dealer networks across all districts. In Andhra Pradesh, the focus will be on power tillers, power weeders, and battery-operated sprayers and harvesters, supported by on-ground dealer demonstrations, localised farmer engagement and tie-ups with government programmes.

“South India is not a single market, it is a mosaic of farming communities, each with distinct crops, climates and mechanisation needs. A farmer growing rice in the Krishna delta of Andhra Pradesh needs different tools and support than a spice grower in Tamil Nadu’s interiors. The Chennai hub is our answer to that diversity. It puts us physically close to where our farmers are , so we can respond faster, serve better, and build the kind of ground-level trust that no catalogue or e-commerce listing can replace. For Balwaan, this is not just logistics , it is the foundation of a long-term South India commitment,” said Co-founder Rohit Bajaj.
